Star Fraser rides Paradise Royale.

If you haven’t  biked Paradise Royale, now is the time!  The 14-mile mountain bike trail is in the Kings Range Conservation Area near Shelter Cove. Ride the trail clockwise for the ultimate thrill. The trail rolls comfortably through Madrone trees before climbing up a steep hillside. At the top, stop for a snack and take in the ocean view. Then enjoy  the sweet downhill with high-wall berms, tabletops and swooping switchbacks. This trail is one of the best in the North Coast! The loop takes about two hours. The Tolkan Campground is on the trail and supplies water and bathrooms. Kudos to all the volunteers from Bigfoot Bicycle Club who helped build this awesome mountain bike trail.  And there’s more: IMBA and the BLM are designing eight more miles of trail that will hook up to Paradise Royale. They are flagging the trail now and construction could start in spring. Paradise is found.
