Couldn’t make the June club meeting? Here’s what you missed:

  • Bigfoot Bicycle Club will keep its name for the foreseeable future!
  • More trail work days will occur in July in the Arcata Community Forest
  • IMBA folks are coming to the King Range Oct. 7-10
  • Bigfoot renewed its memberships with IMBA and the League of American Bicyclists
  • Bigfoot will help HSU Cycling with its fall collegiate race
  • Next meeting is August 2 at GreenWay Partners, who rock for letting us use their office!

February Club Meeting

Bigfoot Bicycle Club is getting ready for a big year with lots of bike projects in the works.

At its first meeting of the New Year, the Board of Directors voted to consider a club name change. Stay tuned for details.

What’s Coming in 2010

The club has invited the International Mountain Bicycling Association Trail Care Crew back for 2010! IMBA’s crew will help the club work on new mountain bike trails at Lacks Creek and other areas. IMBA will also be back to Humboldt County this summer to add another eight miles to the Paradise Royale mountain bike trail in Shelter Cove. The 14-mile trail is awesome!

Bigfoot’s Event Director Jim Robbins is scheduling regular club rides and planning a few events. Make sure you get on the club’s Yahoo list serve if you want emails about club rides. There are road and mountain bike rides for all level of riders.

Bigfoot Bicycle Club President Tim Daniels presented a lifetime honorary club membership to Bigfoot Webmaster Tim Kohberger at the club’s final meeting of the year on Monday night. Kohberger was recognized for keeping the Bigfoot Website up and running for several years.

Bigfoot celebrated a productive and fun year at the Board of Directors gathering at the Plaza Grill in Arcata. The Board of Directors decided it will meet on Jan. 4 for discussion and vote on whether the club should change its name. If the Board decides a name change is desired, the Board will consider alternate names in the near future. The club encourages members to express their opinion on the matter. Send us an email!

The Bigfoot Bicycle Club’s next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2 at Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka.  ALL CLUB MEMBERS ARE WELCOME. The club will accept nominations for officer positions for December elections. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get more involved with Humboldt County’s most influential cycling club!
